He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Jean Kollmeyer (Holmes); his parents, Herman A. Kollmeyer and Vera L. Kollmeyer (Smelser); his siblings, Richard Kollmeyer, Laurel Kollmeyer and June Early; and his stepmother Dorothea Kollmeyer (Shaw).
He is survived by: his children, Bruce Kollmeyer (Rose), Linda Craven (Jerry), Nancy Villanova (Donald), Tammy Wagner (Edward III) and Janet Wittenmyer (Bryan); his grandchildren, Bruce (Angela), Shane (Katie), Benjamin (Rebekah), Daniel (Kendra), Nathan (Victoria), Aaron, Stephen, Joshua (Nelly), James (Serena), Ashley (Patrick), Edward IV, Brynn, Luke, Bryanna, Brielle and Ava; and his sisters, Shirley Eyerley and Mary Beth Futcher (Tony). He is also survived by his eight great-grandchildren.
His work included contributions to the Boeing 707 military aircraft wing design, the KC-135 tanker used for in-flight refueling, and nuclear weapons mounted on airplanes and rockets.
