He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Joseph Rowan Jr. and Rosemary Haggerty; his brother Jack Rowan; his wife Jane Offringa Rowan; his children, Rachel Adele Johnson (Rowan) of Newtown Square, PA, Robin Rosemary Rowan of Pottstown, PA and Jillian Alaine Hulbert (Rowan) of Indiana, PA.; his grandchildren, Kaleb Rowan, Lydia, Micah, James Johnson and Boone Hulbert; and his brother Robert Rowan of West Grove, PA. He was also cherished by seven nieces and nephews.
