He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Barb and Helen Yocom Barb (Swavely); his stepfather Joseph Barb; and his brothers, Nelson Yocom Jr. and Sterling Yocom.

He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Ellen Yocom (Groff); his children, David Yocom Jr. (Elizabeth) and Donna Yocom-Arms (Jacob III); his grandchildren, Stacey Kiss (Jennifer) and Jacob Arms IV; his great grandchildren, Ariana Arms and Jacob Arms V; his brother Robert Yocom; and his sister-in-law Shirley Yocom.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David's memory to St. Paul's United Church of Christ.
