He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John C., Jr. and Rose Marie Martella (Metz); his brother Joseph Martella; his wife Debra Martella (Beck); his children, Matthew (Lindsay) and Caitlin (Charles Nagy) of Pittsburgh; his grandchildren, Mason, Camden and Mackenzie; and his siblings, Michael S. Martella (Stephanie) and Maria Gerula. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations to be made to American Cancer Society or St. Jude's Hospital.
