He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Nicholas Hanak and Helen Hanak (Pirtko); his wife Ann Hanak (Shaffer); his siblings, Nicholas, Michael, Mary, Helen, Ann and Julie; his sons, John Jody Hanak (Christine), Carlisle and Kip Hanak; his granddaughters, Bethany and Rebekah Hanak; and his siblings, Margaret Lasko and Andrew Hanak.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the church.
