She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas H. Roberts and Elizabeth Taylor Mclean Roberts; her husband John W. Sowa; and her siblings, William, Edward, Thomas, Robert Roberts, Irene McPherson and Margaret Lynch.

She is survived by: her nieces and nephews, Clyde "Ed" McPherson of Liberty, Nelson Lynch (Theresa) of Lowber, Cheryl L. Thomas of McGrann and Margaret "Jane" Lynch of Liberty; her son David McPherson of New Eagle; her grandson David McPherson; and her brother-in-law Nelson Lynch of Liberty. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
