William Appleton Sr. Obituary

William Appleton, Sr., 82, of Port Matilda passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at UPMC Altoona. William was born in Port Matilda on January 11, 1941, the son of the late John and Violet (DeAngelo) Appleton.

William is survived by his son, William Appleton, Jr. of Julian; his 3 grandchildren, Joshua Haney, Mathew Appleton, Travis Appleton and his sister Alice Redmond of Norristown. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Wanda Appleton and his brothers, John Appleton, James Appleton, Elliott Appleton and Irvin Dean.

William served his country in the U. S. Army. He was a custodian for the State College Area School District before his retirement. He was a member of Halfmoon Christian Fellowship Church. He enjoyed hunting and gardening.

A graveside service will be held in Black Oak Cemetery, Worth Twp. on June 12, 2023 at 11 AM with Pastor Clayton Kessling officiating.
