He was predeceased by: his parents, John Gelatka and Mary Gelatka (Faltyn); his wife Lucy; his siblings, Mary Lucas, Elizabeth D'Auria, Irene LoGuidice and Eddie Gelatka; and his granddaughter Jessica Rachel Gelatka.

He is survived by: his sons, David Gelatka (Cathy) of Lititz, PA and William Les Gelatka (Jean); his grandchildren, Brooke Gelatka Magni (Frank), Mary Clare Gelatka Harris (Ted) and Jason Gelatka (Heather); his great grandchildren, Carter, Cameron Magni and Brayden William Gelatka; his brother Frank Gelatka (New Jersey); and his niece Rita Mecadon (Pittston).

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, a private service will be held at St John the Baptist Cemetery, Schooley Ave, Exeter.
