He was predeceased by: his parents, Emil John Petzold and Anna Marie Johnson Petzold; his wife Marjorie Petzold; his son Jeffrey Petzold; and his siblings, Richard, Thelma and Alice.
He is survived by: his children, Pamela Petzold, Mark Petzold (Karen), Lynn Petzold and David Petzold (Diane); his daughter-in-law Loreline Bessiere; and his grandsons, Dustin, Andreas and Louis Petzold.
