He was predeceased by: his parents, Ephraim F. Hammond and Margariet Burton Hammond; his siblings, Fred O. Hammond, Robert B. Hammond, John M. Hammond, Franklin D. Hammond and Rita Hart; and his siblings-in-law, Samuel Moore, Fred Redmond, Samuel Hart, Linda Hammond (Benzinger) and Dorothy Hammond.
He is survived by: his siblings, Donald E. Hammond of Williamsport, PA, Shirley J. Redmond of Burtville, Sarah M. Hammond of Port Allegany and Joyce A. Moore of Port Allegany; and his sister-in-law Pam Hammond (Garner) of Okeechobee, FL.
