He was predeceased by: his brothers, Gary Umstead, Charles Umstead and Harry Umstead; his stepmother Charlotte Irene Umstead; and his sister-in-law Jeanie Umstead.
He is survived by: his children, Ronda Jones (Jim) of Victory Heights and Todd Umstead (Kim) of Emlenton; his stepchildren, Brenda McCool (Jeff) of Dempseytown and Eric "Rick" Fike of Rocky Grove; his grandchildren, Zac Jones (Nicole), Betsy Jones, Lindsey Hazlett, Justin Wilson, Dustin Holton (Michelle), Christie Culver (Matt), Nicole Malone, Kristen Thompson, Brittany Fike, Heather McCool and Jeffrey McCool, Jr.; his great grandchildren, Adriann Jones, Jesse Hazlett and Blaine Wilson; and his siblings, Alfred D. "Skip" Umstead (Phyllis) of Grove City and Sandra Sue Umstead of Polk. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
