He was predeceased by: his parents, Willis H. Hess and Mary Jane Hess (Heigley); and his siblings, Harold Yeager, Glenn Hess, Orlo Hess and Joan Herbstritt.
He is survived by: his daughter Heidi Hess of Franklin.
