He was predeceased by : his parents, Manfred Cortese and Gladys Cortese. He is survived by : his wife Marian Giordano; and his children, Rick Cortese, Joseph Ramos and Christie Ramos. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Richard's name to the National Kidney Foundation.
