He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Mentyka and Josephine Rogan Mentyka; his wife Eleanor Pokigo; and his siblings, Walter Mentyka, Florence Barton, Irene Charnetski and Natalie Dobrowalski.
He is survived by: his sons, Joseph M. Mentyka (Nancy) of Mountain Top and Robert A. Mentyka (Mary Jean) of Port Matilda; and his grandchildren, Robert Mentyka (Lis) of Youngwood, Madelaine Beckford (Albert) of Charleston, SC, Laura Mentyka (James Moore) of Canonsburg and Caroline Mentyka of Dallas Tx.
In lieu of flowers, contributions, if desired, may be made to the Plymouth VFW Post 1425, 111 W Main St, Plymouth, PA 18651, to be directed to "The Wall That Heals" in Joseph's honor.
