He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy Scherer (Ropke) and Austin O. Scherer. He is survived by: his wife Helen (Elsasser); his daughters, Helen Snay (Stephen), Pat Scherer and Kathy Englert (Shawn); his grandchildren, Jax Snay, Katryna Englert, Nick Snay and Harrison Englert; and his siblings, Judy Smolenski and Bob Scherer. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
