He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Kopec and Anna Chropcho Kopec; his brother-in-law Ronald "Sarge" Roslewicz; his aunts, Eva Chropcho and Dolores Kundla; and his uncle David Kundla.
He is survived by: his wife Lois; his children, Michael (Carol Ann Zawadski) and Sherry Kopec Kirkland (Joey) of Lakeland, FL; his brother Stephen (Cindy); his sister-in-law Barbara Roslewicz; his grandchildren, George Moser (Brittany), Dallas and Gregory Moser (Mallory); his great grandchildren, Lilah and Maverick Moser; his aunt Margie Chropcho; his uncle Nick Chropcho; and his pet Opel.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc. (55 Stark St, Hudson, PA 18705). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary's of the Assumption Byzantine Church (695 N Main St, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18705).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in John's memory may be given to the SPCA of Luzerne County, 524 East Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA, 18702.
