“It is August 12, Saturday, and I just now found out from you that my Cousin Sonny (Art Hakim) passed away on August 8th. It is hard to believe & I'm in shock. My cousin Sonny always had the best sense of humor you could ever find & an excellent teacher, coach, athlete, husband & father. He has always been a great role model & now I'll be thinking about all the years & decades I was growing up with his strong influence. Sonny is unforgettable.”
