He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis T. Flynn Sr. and Blanche Jean Cantrel Flynn; and his brothers, Joseph, Francis and Daniel.
He is survived by: his wife Florence Edith Ruch; his sons, Edward C. (Stephanie), Thomas P. (Ellen) and Brian F. (Linda); his grandchildren, Caitlin (Molly Lieber), Sean (Lauren Rosano), Cassidy, Delaney, Bailey, Michael and Erin; his great grandchildren, Emilia, Jane and Felicity; and his sisters, Mary Lilly, Patricia Flynn and Blanche Gebhard. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
