He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Mullen and Helen Ochreiter Mullen. He is survived by: his daughter Michele Coyle (Michael) of Avoca; his grandson Michael Coyle of Avoca; his close friend Kathryn McHale of Pittston; and his siblings, Francis "Buddy" Mullen of Avoca, Virginia Bucha of Harveys Lake and Margaret Daley of Pittston. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
