It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Joseph J. Cunningham (Pittston, Pennsylvania), who passed away on December 29, 2024, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James F. Cunningham and Catherine Herron Cunningham; his brothers, James F. Cunningham and John Cunningham; and his brothers-in-law, Harry Miller and Frank Wallace.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Fortuna; and his sisters, Rita Miller and Kathleen Wallace of Austin. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Gubbiotti Funeral Home (1030 Wyoming Ave, Pittston, PA 18643). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Anthony of Padua Church (224 Memorial St, Exeter, PA 18643). The military honors was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 3:17 PM at the St. John Slovak Cemetery.
