It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Francis Patrick Burns of Pittston, Pennsylvania, who passed away on August 16, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his mother Frances Burns; his wife Ann E. Burns; his siblings, Theresa Burns and Joseph Burns; and his nephews, James Burns and Joseph Burns.

He is survived by: his siblings-in-law, Pauline Evans, Linda Klein (Michael) and Stephen Lago.

The family kindly asks that flowers be omitted and memorial donations be made to the Care and Concern Ministries of St. John the Evangelist Church.

“I have known Frank for 47 years and I never heard him speak unkindly about anyone. To be his friend was to count on him for guidance, assistance and support in whatever the issue. He not only gave advice but sat down and worked on the details with you. He and Anne were generous, sharing their tickets to cultural events at the Scranton Cultural Center. This always include dinner with Frank and Anne picking up the tab. He loved reading history and discussing the civil war. He will be missed.”
