With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Florence S. Howanitz of Pittston, Pennsylvania, born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, who passed away on September 16, 2021 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Albert Schmick and Anna Charles Schmick; her grandparents, Leonard and Emma Schmick; her husband Dr. Emil P. Howanitz; her brother Albert Charles Schmick; her children, Dr. Paul Howanitz (Patricia), Beth Chambliss (Kevin) and Ann Pini (Guiseppe); and her grandchildren, Paul Howanitz, Lauren Howanitz, Shannon Saper, Andrew Chambliss, Michela Hannigan, Monique Aiello and Giancarlo Pini. She was also cherished by eleven great-grandchildren.
