She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Cometa and Eleanor McDonnell Cometa. She is survived by: her husband Andrew Vavrek; her children, Sandra Pearsall (Mark), Cathy Douglas (Kermit), Kingston, Charles Lockman and Harding; her grandchildren, Cody Crawford, Charles Pearsall, Caitlin Pearsall, Grant Smith, Olivia Lockman and Donovan Douglas; and her brother Attorney Thomas Cometa (Sharon).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Cathy to the SPCA of Luzerne County.
