He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Benedict and Bertha Benedict (Eastman); his siblings, Allen Benedict, Lewis Benedict, Clarence Benedict and Dora Dygan; and his grandson Heath Benedict.
He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Bosko; his children, Nancy Jewell (Doug), David Benedict (Rosemary) of Pittsfield, PA, Marilyn Swabik (Rick) of Centerville, PA, Ed Benedict (Holly) of South Carolina and Elaine Edmiston (Terrance) of South Carolina; and his siblings, Lee Benedict, Clara Saxton, Ruth Hagg and Roy Benedict. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lavern's name to the Garland Volunteer Fire Department.
