He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Col. Albert Clopton and Estelle Collins Saffold; his former wife Betty Fulton; his daughter Meredith Rae "Dee"; his former wife Doris Egbert; his children, Thomas Franklin Saffold, Jr., Susan Saffold, Barbara Sheffer (Gordon), Amy Scheuring (Tom) and Janet Saffold; and his wife Dorie. He was also cherished by eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren by his second spouse; and two granddaughters and a great-grandson by his first spouse.
