It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Russell Jay Parkinson of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who passed away on February 14, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Nevins and Glendora Parkinson (Watt); his former wife Lyn M. Parkinson; and his sister Jayne Brown of Arizona. He is survived by: his children, Hugh J. Parkinson, H. Nevins Parkinson II (Lori) and Briceland P. Farrell (Vince); his grandchildren, Meghan Harwood (Michael), Vincent Jay Farrell (Ariel), Jessica Diegel (Alex), Judith Parkinson (Basti), Amanda Parkinson, Kara Abbondanza (Dean) and Emily Shorr; his great grandchildren, Farah Palm, Vincent Aaron Jay Farrell, Graey Palm, Nathanael Palm, Hudson Palm, Katharina Schwarz, Mara Diegel, Franziska Schwarz, Raphael Diegel, Sebastian Abbondanza and Zander Harwood; his niece Anne Kincely (Bob); his great-nieces, Karla and Mindy; his niece Shirely Palermo; his cousin Jean Dietz (Jim); and also Bob Dietz.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Dormont Funeral Home (2630 W Liberty Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15216).
