He was predeceased by: his parent Gwendolen Black; and his uncle Byron "By" Williams. He is survived by: his brother John Black (Lorenne); his nieces and nephews, Randi and Ian Black; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Gwendolen, Lillian, Coraline and Amelia.
Later in life, his uncle By, along with his children-Barry's cousins Wendy, Todd, and Lance-also made meaningful contributions to his care and well-being.
