He is survived by: his wife Theresa Salerno (Musto); his children, Melissa Pratt (Charles) and Mark, Jr. Salerno (Julie); his grandchildren, Riley Pratt, Axel and Logan Salerno (Mack); his mother Grace Salerno (Gimbrone); and his siblings, Ernest Salerno (Barbara), Jeanine Cosentino, Annette McShane (Timothy) and Maria Seeman (Larry).

In lieu of flowers the Salerno family suggest contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
