She was predeceased by: her husbands, Edward Lawrence Coleman and Charles Smith Sr.; her parents, John Jones and Anna Bell Jones; and her siblings, John Jr., Edward, Minnie and Philip Jones.
She is survived by: her children, L. Coleman Bey, Janet S. Coleman and Wanda Moore-Evans; her sister Stella Louden; her children, Charmion Smith-Taylor and Charles Smith Jr.; and her grandsons, Jerome Smith and Donald J. Love.
