He was predeceased by: his wife Catherine "Kay" Thomas; his parents, John E. Tomas and Agnes Knightly Thomas; his siblings, Donald Thomas and Dorothy Mae Mellocchi; and his siblings-in-law, John Mellocchi, Frances McAllister Thomas of Swissvale, Mary Jane McGinn Fricovsky, Betty Stark of Ohio and Patricia Lucas of Swissvale.
He is survived by: his brothers, Jim Thomas of North Huntingdon and Bob Thomas (Monica) of Idaho; and his sister-in-law Shirley Thomas of Turtle Creek. He is also survived by 18 nieces and nephews, 12 great-nieces and nephews, and 13 great-great-nieces and nephews.
