She was predeceased by: her husband George "Zeke" Zalenchak; her parents, Frank Stickley and Edna Stickley; and her sister Catherine Perrott (late Joe). She is survived by: her children, George Zalenchak (Juliana) and Deborah Wayte (John); her grandchildren, George Zalenchak, Jr., Jonathan Zalenchak, Joan Perry (Jeff), John Brand (Kerri) and Jason Brand (Kim); her great grandchildren, Amelia, Maylee, William, Maddie and Sydney; and her siblings, Bill Stickley (Ida), Jean Beck (late Ray), Joe Stickley (Ellen), Jane Evans (Phil), John Stickley (Nancy), Alberta Severns (late Harry), Frances O'Leary (late Chuck), Rose Geer (late Jack), Mart Stickley (late Marion), Patricia Cable (late George) and Lydia Lyda (late Tom).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to Joan's family towards a memorial stone being placed at Phipps Conservatory in her honor.
