With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Edward B. Murcko (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania), born in Transfer, Pennsylvania, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 14, 2024. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In the vast expanse of eternity, Edward shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Edward farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.

He was predeceased by: his wife Bernadette Smetana. He is survived by: his daughter Dr. Ed's; his family, Dr. Anita, Dr. Lisa, Dr. Laura, Dr. Regina and Dr. Juliette; and his grandchildren, Christopher Korte and Dr. Jolie Murcko.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the John A Freyvogel Sons, Inc. (4900 Centre Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15213). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Of St. Mary Magdalene Parish (509 S Dallas Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15208).

“Our deepest sympathy to all of Dr. Ed's family. We have many memories of all the Murcko's gathering at the farm in Transfer. We remember when our kids were little we made many trips to Dr Ed's office. We remember one such time, when he finished checking the kids teeth he called his wife Bernie and they invited us to follow Dr. Ed home and have dinner with his family.
