He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph A. Gilmore, Sr. and Loretta Thomas Gilmore; his wife Joanne Louise Gilmore; his daughter Dorothea Gilmore (Dot); his brothers, Edward Carter and Joseph A. Gilmore, Sr.; his siblings-in-law, Joaquin Saavedra, Joseph L. Collins, Jr., Brenda Gilmore and Ethel R. Collins-Smith; his nephew Joseph A. Gilmore, Jr.; and his grandson Damein Randolph.
He is survived by: his children, Darryl Jr. (Shelly) and Dana; his siblings, Arlene Saavedra and Harold Gilmore; his siblings-in-law, Rita Collins and Linwood Hayes; his grandchildren, Darryl, Darnell, Ramicka, Antjuan, Dana, T'Asia, Taylor and Nya; and his aunt Ann Harris. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Jones Funeral Home (2644 Wylie Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15219). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the White Lily Baptist Church (3621 Chartiers Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15204).
