He was predeceased by: his parents, Cletus Oliver Gilson and Mary Wilson Gilson; his former wife Ruth Palma Gilson; his sister Nancy Gilson Waldier; and his mother-in-law Frances Makray Hayden.
He is survived by: his wife Frances Makray Gilson; his children, Palma Jean Sheehan (John), Michele Kollig (Jerry), Christopher Gilson (Janet) and Shawn Gilson (Diane); his grandchildren, Jack, Tracey Vaughan, Christopher Gilson (Stephanie), Matthew Gilson (Alana), Courtney Rubin (Andrew), Ryan Gilson (Micheala), Jason Gilson, Erin O'Connor (Joel) and Emily (Sam); his sister Mary Lee Figueroa; his close friends, Marty, Frannie Avery, Mark, Amber Hauger and Bryce Hauger; his nephew Zachary Makray; and his caregiver Janet Henry. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins.
