She was predeceased by: her brother Joseph "Paul" Kyle (Shirley). She is survived by: her children, Sharon Walb (Bill), Diane Lenhart (Carl) and James R. Kepka (Joell); her grandchildren, Danielle, Matthew, Brianna, Alexa, Katrina, Shane, Madelynn and Mason; her great grandchildren, Rhiley, Daylan, Slayte, Izzabella and Charlotte; and her siblings, Edward Kyle (late Joan), Kathleen Swackhammer (John), Georgene Murray (late James), Audrey Morgan and Thomas Kyle. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 600 Waterfront Dr., #210, Pgh., PA 15222.

“I meant Carolyn many years ago at her doctor's office. I was Dr Preiss's nurse for 21 years. Over the years we spoke on the phone many times. Every time she came into the office she would seek me out and give me the biggest hug. I loved her spirit,her sense of fun. She was always upbeat.She loved her family so much. And she always told me how much they loved her.I will miss the kindness and the glow she gave off. The last thing she said to me was "I love you." I love you too,Carolyn.”
