He was predeceased by: his brother Charles. He is survived by: his wife Judy Ruben; his children, Lori Smolar (Benjamin), Craig (Aviva) of Pittsburgh and Joshua (Jill) of Portland; his grandchildren, Aaron, Zachary, Emma, Lucy, Noah and Andrew; and his siblings, Marc, Bess, Jonathan and Jeffrey.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Ralph Schugar Chapel (5509 Centre Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15232). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. Through family and work, he developed several meaningful friendships, but he especially cherished his bond with his college friends, who rekindled their friendship during the pandemic with a virtual book club that has continued to bring several years of enjoyment.
