With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Richard L. Schaeffer of Pine Grove, Pennsylvania, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 10, 2024 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Schaeffer and Amy Berger Schaeffer; his wife Shirley M. "Toot" Sholly Schaeffer; and his siblings, William, Paul, Mervin, Norman Schaeffer, Marion Wenrich and Beulah Reed.

He is survived by: his children, David (Susan Schaeffer) of Tremont and Glenda (Chuck Nagle) of Pine Grove; and his grandchildren, Jessica Wolfe, Justine Hosler, Christine Locke, Jessica Nagle, Jeremy Stricker and Jonathan Kramer. He is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 312 S. Tulpehocken St., Pine Grove, Pa. 17963 in his memory.
