He was predeceased by: his parents, John H. Rutter and Leah R. Kutz Rutter; and his brother Jason Rutter. He is survived by: his children, Sharon Rutter, Deborah Rutter, John D. Rutter Jr. and Daniel Rutter; and his siblings, Amos Rutter, James Rutter and Naomi Alspaugh. He is also survived by five grandchildren; many great grandchildren.
