He was predeceased by: his parents, Sameul Schaeffer and Sadie Schaeffer (Wagner); his son Richard Searle; his granddaughter Alicia Marie Gurski; and his siblings, Glen, Bob, Dick, Dale, Bruce, Jerry Schaeffer, Mary Ratigan, Doreen Schuler, Elaine Bose, Delphine Kriner, Joyce Herring, Pat Barnes, Audrey Gleim and Shirley Williams.
He is survived by: his children, Donna Searle-Rittle (Edward Rittle, Sr.), Robin (Scot Gurski), Mark Searle of Pine Grove, Glen of Pine Grove and David Searle of Pine Grove; and his grandchildren, Jay, Heather, Ryan, Kimberly Searle, Justine Wagner, Nichole Wolfe and Catherine Gurski. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
