He was predeceased by: his parents, Eduards Jirgens and Lida Jirgens (Senbergs); his wife Elaine E. Jirgens; and his siblings, Velta Lyons, Arija Smith, Rita Paeglis and Imants Jirgens.
He is survived by: his children, William Jirgens (Robin), Maija Jirgens, Ziggy Jirgens, Peter Jirgens (Chris) and Rita Jirgens; his grandchildren, Dana Henige (Brian), Jennifer Rayman (Tim), Ryan Blankenship, Chad Jirgens and Zoe Jirgens-Smalla; his great grandchildren, Morgan, Gavin Rayman and Mason Blankenship; his siblings, Peter Jirgens (Barb) and Maija Miller (Corky); and his brother-in-law Johnny Kovatch. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions can be made in honor of Zigfrids to The Latvian Heritage Center, the Daugavas Vanagi through the Latvian Hertiage Center, or to Rose Arbor Hospice.
