He was predeceased by: his parents, Aaron Taney and Ethel Taney (McConaghy); and his siblings, Anna, Evelyn, Elaine, Kathryn, Earl, Kenneth and Frederick.
He is survived by: his wife Susanne L. Taney (Lannutti) of Phoenixville, PA; his children, Richard Taney, Jr. (Angela Taney), Nanci (Andrew Peters), Michael (Donna Taney) and James (Karin Taney); his grandchildren, Richard Taney, III, Matthew Peters and Jessica Taney; his great grandchildren, Rayna, Shyann and Christian; and his sisters, Jean Lane and Carol Miller.
