He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles S. Simon and Elizabeth Simon (Evans); his granddaughter Chesney Sophia Simon; his brother Charles Simon; and his half-brother Jack Rush.
He is survived by: his girlfriend Mary Ann Betley; his sons, Joseph C. Simon, Jr. and Stephen M. Simon; his grandson JJ Simon; and his sisters, Marguerite Sabol and Betty Ann Shoemaker.
