He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard C. Smoyer Sr. and Mae Smoyer (Allenbach); and his sister Helen. He is survived by: his wife Sandra L. Smoyer (Heil); his children, Howard Smoyer III (Carolyn), Christy L. Wiley (Steven) and Todd R. Smoyer (Rebekka); his grandchildren, Aaron, Owen, Lena, Noah, Amelia, Howard, Todd and Janai; his brother James (Pauline); and his niece Marie.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Howard's memory to Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ, 60 N Hanover St., Pottstown, PA 19464.
