He was predeceased by: his parents, James W. Barnett and Mary Vivian "Toots" Barnett (Renwick); and his son Richard A. "Barney" Barnett. He is survived by: his daughter Lisa McCamley (Tim) of Philipsburg; his grandchildren, Matt McCamley (Emma), Kurt McCamley (Anna), Corissa Plazarin (Richard), Alyssa Raffetto (Daniel) and Ryan Barnett; his great grandchildren, Emilee Plazarin, Dominic, Ava Raffetto, Parker McCamley and Sawyer McCamley; his brother Gary Barnett of Philipsburg; and also Gabriele "Gabi" Healey (Mike) of Philipsburg.
