He was predeceased by: his parents, Edith and Emedio. He is survived by: his wife Carol; his son Richard Jr. (Lisa); his grandchildren, Julia, Richard III and Will Vanni; and his siblings, Emedio Vanni Jr., Emma Wetzel, John Vanni and Janet Malloy.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Richard's name to The First Tee of Greater Philadelphia.
