He was predeceased by: his parents, Loder L. Dent and Louis E. Dent; his brother Curtis E. Dent; and his son Louis A. Dent, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Lydia Lyndia Dent; his daughter Gabrielle L. Armstead (Anthony); his daughter-in-law Alicia L. Dent; his grandsons, Louis Xavier Dent, Nicholas J. Armstead, Alexander P. Armstead, Louis Zarius Dent and Louis Vontez Dent; his sister Diane T. Dent; his stepchildren, Stella Martin Craig (Ken), Debbie Owens (Thomas), Lynda Bryan-Montanez and Varian Gray; his nephew John White; his great-niece Essence White; and his godchildren, Peter Liu, Jr. and Jenny Liu. He is also survived by ten step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Lenwood Jones Funeral Home (5911 W Girard Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19151).
