He was predeceased by : his parents, Frederick Zobel and Catherine Zobel; and his wife Carol M. Zobel. He is survived by : his daughters, Deborah Carol Zobel, Jacqueline Marie Zobel and Jackie.

A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, July 3rd 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Tacony Baptist Church (4715 Disston St, Philadelphia, PA 19135). A burial was held on Wednesday, July 3rd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:15 PM at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery (830 Highland Rd, Newtown, PA 18940).

In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory to Tunnel to Towers Veterans Organization, T2T.org would be appreciated by his daughters or, simply plant a tree in John's memory.
