We bid farewell to John G. Colona (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania), born in Washington, District of Columbia, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on December 3, 2024 at the age of 82. John touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Colona and Catherine Colona (Gardiner); and his parents-in-law, Beatrice "Bea" DeCaro and Horace "Boe" DeCaro. He is survived by: his daughter Mia Colona (Mak Kemenosh); his wife Donna Colona; his children, Lynn Mazur (Ed Mazur) and John Colona (Beverly Bongiorno); his former wife Patricia Weir; his brother William Colona; and his sisters-in-law, Joan Colona and Gina Romeo (Santo "Junior" Romeo). He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Stella Maris Church (2901 S 10th St, Philadelphia, PA 19148). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in his memory to Stella Maris Church.
