James J. Spagnola Obituary

James J. “Jim” Spagnola, 62 of Richboro, Bucks County passed away Thursday, July 22, 2021 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Born on October 31, 1958 in Easton, PA, Jim was the son of the late James and Josephine Burgio Spagnola.
He married Eve Anne DeBonis on September 19, 1986, and they would have celebrated 35 years of marriage in the fall of 2021. Jim and Eve had one child, Alexa Marguerite, who studied electrical engineering at the University of Pennsylvania.
Together they lived in Richboro, PA and spent summers at their house in Ocean City, NJ where Jim enjoyed biking, water sports, and beach activities with his family. An avid basketball fan, he coached Alexa’s St. Bedes CYO team and enjoyed following NCAA March Madness. Jim, Eve, and Alexa together enjoyed traveling, authentic Italian food, action documentaries, and taking any pickup sports game way too seriously. Eve and Alexa were the joys of Jim’s life, as he would gladly inform anyone he got the chance to.
Jim was an active parishioner of St. Bede the Venerable Catholic Church and a donor for the Wounded Warrior Project and the American Heart Association among others.
Jim had an accomplished and impactful career in the pharmaceutical industry, most recently at Kedrion Biopharma. Previously, he served as the National Sales Director at Shionogi, Inc., National Business Director at Syneos Health Commercial Solutions, and Regional Executive Director at AMAG Pharmaceuticals. He had spent over 25 years at Sanofi (originally Marion Laboratories) in a wide range of sales, leadership development, and other management roles. Those he worked with, for, and that worked for him consistently emphasize his willingness to go above and beyond for his teams. His success in a mentorship role can be traced back to his origins as a high school science teacher and basketball coach at Great Valley High School.
Jim received a BS in Biology from the University of Pittsburgh in 1980 and was a graduate of Easton Area High School with the class of 1976.
He is survived by his wife Eve DeBonis Spagnola and their daughter Alexa, as well as his sister Maria Spagnola LaValva, her husband Michael, and their son Antonio.
The Spagnola family will receive condolences on Sunday evening July 25, from 6:00pm to 8:00 pm at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro and on Monday morning at St. Bede the Venerable Church 1071 Holland Rd. Holland from 10:00am until Words of Remembrance, 10:45am. Mass will follow at 11:00am. Interment to follow at Newtown Cemetery.
