He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Hillegas and Mary Hillegas (Fisher); his wife Gloria Kartik Hillegas; and his siblings, Joseph Hillegas, Paul Hillegas, Eileen Harkinson (late Leo) and Rita Monaghan (late Stewart).
He is survived by: his sons, Stephen C. Hillegas (Diane) of Holland and David P. Hillegas (Heather) of Somerset; his sisters, Mary Razewski (late Aloysius) and Teresa Fouchtman (late Thomas); his sister-in-law Helen Hillegas; and his grandchildren, Amanda Gaccione (Eric), Lauren Jones (Joseph), Brittany Kelly, Trever Hillegas, Kelsey Yanosky and Alexis Yanosky. He is also survived by eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
